"Glamping in Creede Colorado," gouache on 12" x 9" wood panel mounted on 1" wood frame, original painting
Every summer we travel up to go hiking, fishing and camping in Colorado, and often make our way to Creede Colorado to the headwaters of the Rio Grande River that flows through the San Juan Mountains. I love how dark the skies where you can see all the constellations away from city lights and way the lanterns light up the tents - it feels like a time out of place. It's that time again, and I can't wait to get back.
This is an original painting.

►WHO I AM◄
I’m Courtney! Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I have spent my life wandering through the woods of the Texas Hill Country, tubing it’s rivers, boot scoot’n in its dance halls and exploring this great state with so much diverse beauty. I travel out to the high deserts of West Texas as often as I can to see the night skies in the darkest place in North America and soak up the big skies and desert landscape.
I started oil painting when I was 9 and haven’t stopped. I love to paint places I feel connected to and hope these paintings act as windows for others to feel connected to them too. Nostalgia and mystery are common themes in my work, and “Sehnsucht,” a German word that resonates with me and means an intense yearning we feel especially for the unfinished parts of our life. Often when I paint night lights, or blue flowers, these are all symbols for this word “Sehnsucht.”
Thank you for collecting my work as I explore mystery, nature and human connection through my paintings, mostly in Texas with occasional ramblings to Colorado and New Mexico. Please message me , and introduce yourself! I’d love to learn something about you✨►FOLLOW ME◄
