I love the wooded areas and rivers that run through Texas, like this running through small town Gruene, Texas. All the light that filters through the oaks and cypress trees and changes the sky colors that come through like stain glass windows, especially in the morning light or at dusk. I like to paint all the lines that reflect on the moving water. This painting was inspired by the view from the Gruene Crossing looking east. If you've crossed that bridge, fished in kayaks or tubed on the Guadalupe River near Gruene, Texas, you know this spot.
Thank you for your interest in my art.

►WHO I AM◄
I’m Courtney! Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I have spent my life wandering through the woods of the Texas Hill Country, tubing it’s rivers, boot scoot’n in its dance halls and exploring this great state with so much diverse beauty. I travel out to the high deserts of West Texas as often as I can to see the night skies in the darkest place in North America and soak up the big skies and desert landscape.
I started oil painting when I was 9 and haven’t stopped. I love to paint places I feel connected to and hope these paintings act as windows for others to feel connected to them too. Nostalgia and mystery are common themes in my work, and “Sehnsucht,” a German word that resonates with me and means an intense yearning we feel especially for the unfinished parts of our life. Often when I paint night lights, or blue flowers, these are all symbols for this word “Sehnsucht.”
Thank you for collecting my work as I explore mystery, nature and human connection through my paintings, mostly in Texas with occasional ramblings to Colorado and New Mexico. Please message me , and introduce yourself! I’d love to learn something about you✨
