"Austin Bats at Congress Bridge" 20 x 16." gouache painting on wood panel with gallery mount.
Original Gouache Painting.
This original Barton Springs Pool painting is inspired by this iconic spring feed pool in Zilker Park, Austin, Texas.
Made with nostalgia in Texas, this retro-vibe original painting of bats flying over Austin skyline at Congress Bridge over Lady Bird Lake adds a colorful and unique feel to your wall space for all those that call Austin home, or the perfect gift for those with happy memories of this much loved Austin hotspot! This unique and local painting is for beauty seekers, adventurers and Texas art lovers seeking Austin-themed original paintings to decorate the walls of their favorite spaces with some beauty and nostalgia.
Native to Austin, I have watched the bats fly from under the Congress Street bridge at dusk my entire life. This nostalgic, old Austin seasonal tradition of watching the Mexican bats migrate is wrapped up in my memories with all this gorgeous sunset light reflecting off of Lady Bird lake, and the iconic shapes of the Austin skyline, including the glowing Frost building. Sunset watching at Congress Bridge -- in my humble opinion -- is one of the best things to do and see in downtown Austin, Texas.
